Athletic Wicking Jersey (AWJ) is a polyester knit textile used in cloth diapers to line the shell, the pocket, or inserts to provide a cooler, stay-dry surface. Made from synthetic fibres such as polyester, bamboo rayon, or nylon, the material is can absorb a small amount of liquid, but generally wicks away to the layers underneath. It is also a popular fabric for sportswear because of its hygroscopic and perspirant properties.
